Located in Virginia Beach, Inspiration Health Addiction Treatment Center offers a comprehensive program to treat opioid use disorder, alcohol addiction, drug addiction, and more.
One part of our comprehensive treatment program is medication-assisted treatment, which includes the use of Suboxone/Buprenorphine to treat Opioid Use Disorder.
Suboxone is a prescription drug which consists of Buprenorphine and Naloxone. Buprenorphine is a partial opioid agonist, which means it is less severe than full opioid agonists like methadone. It helps keep patients physically and emotionally stable as they begin the recovery process. Naloxone is an opioid antagonist which helps reduce the chance that Suboxone itself could be abused.
When beginning a medication-assisted program, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, it’s important to have doctors who understand Opioid Use Disorder and are able to look at your specific situation in order to create a treatment plan that is right for you.
