Before the first COVID-19 case was identified in the United States, a different epidemic, namely the opioid crisis, was taking the lives of over 130 United States citizens per day. Statistics show that nearly 20 million American adults battle substance abuse disorders.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that creative adaptions to activities normally conducted in person makes bringing treatment to much greater numbers of clients in need possible. This includes pausing testing for low-risk patients and coming up with convenient alternatives that allows for monitoring of client adherence to treatment requirements via drug testing at a distance. At IHAT, we are committed to extending convenient and quality treatment options to clients across the State of Virginia utilizing a myriad of unique methods and affiliations that have been sanctioned by SAMHSA and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
This allows access to care for clients who may be located in rural and medically underserved areas as well. IHAT makes in-person clinic services and many of our treatment programs available to individuals across the State of Virginia in need of treatment.
